Thaddeus Heffner, LMFT

I have practiced as a licensed marriage and family therapist in the greater Nashville area since 2009, working with both individuals and groups. Over the years, much of my work has increasingly centered on attachment, relationships, addiction, and the emotional struggles that often remain difficult to name or share. I believe meaningful change begins when we have a place where we can be honest about what is happening within us and know that we will be met with understanding rather than judgment.

My work is grounded in an understanding of attachment — the ways our earliest relationships shape how we see ourselves, how we connect with others, and how we respond to pain and difficulty. I am interested in the whole person: your history, your relationships, your emotional life, your longings, and your strengths.

Throughout my years of clinical practice, I have worked with men and women, both individually and in groups, navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, questions of identity, and seasons of significant change.

My primary approach is Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT®), a brain-based modality that uses light, wavelength, and therapeutic connection to support deep emotional healing. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and draw from a range of evidence-informed approaches, including attachment-focused, affect-focused, and relational therapies.

I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Tennessee. I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

I practice in Franklin, Tennessee, and serve individuals throughout the greater Nashville area.
